Spring is an exciting time of events for Family House volunteers. April 16-22, 2018 is National Volunteer Appreciation week and we can’t wait to celebrate our volunteers with a these social and educational opportunities. Mark your calendars!

Spring Volunteer Potluck Lunch

Let's lunch together. Bring your favorite dish to share with other volunteers in a time of food and fellowship. Family House will provide desserts and drinks.

Volunteer Town Hall Meeting

Wednesday, Apr. 18 (9:30-11 AM) in the Family House Board Room

Join Claire Veazey, Director of Volunteer Services, for coffee, donuts, and updates on Family House. We’ll talk about what's coming up this summer for the volunteer program, including lobby renovation and groundbreaking updates. As always, Claire would like to hear your thoughts on how things are going from where you stand.

Tax Info Session

Friday, Apr. 20 (4-5 PM) in the Family House Board Room

So many volunteers were pleased with the Scambusters educational event we hosted last autumn that we brainstormed another didactic presentation. Family House invites volunteers back for an educational event with Jim Starling, CPA and Senior Internal Auditor at LabCorp. Jim will explain some important changes to expect in 2018. This will be a combination of personal planning ideas and, as Jim describes, "fascinating tax changes" from both an individual and business standpoint. He promises you'll say "taxes and fun" for the first and probably only time in your life. Wine and cheese will be provided.
