SECU Family House Board Update

SECU Family House at UNC Hospitals is pleased to welcome Udobi Campbell, PharmD, MBA, and Shirley M. Diefenbach, JD to the Family House Board of Directors. (Scroll down below to learn more about our new Board members’ backgrounds.)

Many thanks to our outgoing Board Members, Jay Patel and Mary Beck for their leadership and community service.

Ali Fromme will continue in her leadership role as President of the Board. We are so appreciative of her service and all of our Board members that volunteer their time and expertise to help us towards providing the most supportive environment possible for our guests. 

NEW INCOMING BOARD MEMBERS:


Udobi Campbell, PharmD, MBA

Udobi Campbell, PharmD, MBA, was recently named Vice President of Operations for UNC Hospitals.  Previously she served as the Executive Director of Pharmacy for the Triangle West region of UNC Health beginning in January 2, 2020. In February 2022, her leadership scope expanded to include Care Management and the Division of Hospital Medicine. Dr. Campbell also has an academic connection with the UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy as the Executive Associate Dean for Clinical Practice. Before joining UNC Health, she was a 12-year employee of Duke University Hospital, where she held multiple senior leadership roles in both the inpatient and outpatient pharmacy service platforms.

Dr. Campbell obtained her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Florida A&M University in Tallahassee, FL, in 1998. She subsequently pursued and completed her pharmacy practice residency at Duke University Medical Center in 2001. In 2007, she earned a Master of Business Administration degree and a Health Sector Management certificate from Duke University Fuqua School of Business.

Dr. Campbell is an active participant in local and national organizations and has a strong interest in developing other leaders.

Family is very important to Dr. Campbell. She and her husband, S. Quincy Campbell, MBA, MSc, PMP, have been married for almost 20 years and have two wonderful children, Olivia (13) and Abigail (11). As time permits, she likes to spend time outdoors and has completed several races, including one full marathon and six half-marathons.

 
Shirley M. Diefenbach, JD

Recognized in the 2022 US rankings of the prestigious Best Lawyers in America®, Shirley Diefenbach is a principal member of Walker Lambe, PLLC law firm and the managing partner of the firm’s trust and estate administration department. Shirley began her law practice in New York, where she was an associate of a nationally recognized Elder Law and Estate Planning law firm. Through her years of practice, she has had the opportunity to help hundreds of families with their estate planning and trust and estate administration needs. ⁣


Shirley earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Maryland, and her law degree from the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law in New York City. While in law school, Shirley was the Internet Editor of the Arts & Entertainment Law Journal and a member of the Tax Clinic. In that capacity, she represented low-income taxpayers in audits, administrative appeals, offers in compromise, and other tax collection matters. ⁣
Shirley is admitted to practice law in New York and North Carolina. She is also accredited by the Department of Veteran’s Affairs to represent clients before the Agency.

Shirley is a board member of the Elder & Special Needs Section of the North Carolina Bar Association, board member of the North Carolina chapter of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys (NAELA) and a member of the Durham Orange Estate Planning Council.
