The Family House kitchen is a favorite gathering space for our guests and our meal providers. The delectable scents from the kitchen spread throughout the House, sometimes all day! Recently in the kitchen, House guests, April, Debbie and Cricket have been cooking up a storm (cakes, oh my goodness, cakes!!, sweets, brownies and whole meals) serving up their efforts to their fellow guests. The tasty sweet breads and cakes don’t last long!

Chef Marci showed up with a Chinese dinner prepared by her students at the Durham Tech Culinary Arts Program. Their menu will give you an idea of the amount of skill and energy they put into their meal for our guests!

If you wonder about preparing a meal for our guests, Anna Lorenz (anna@secufamilyhouse.org) and Georgie Clemens (georgie@secufamilyhouse.org) will explain the details of bringing a meal to Family House. Our goal is four meals a week: sometimes it's dinner or occasionally grab-and-go breakfasts. The meal offerings are prominently posted in the lobby, often leading to the ‘my mouth is watering’ response as our guests head to the hospital or return after a long day.

Interested? We hope so! As our census increases after Omicron, we sure could use your help!
