Guest Spotlight: Heather Ledbetter, In Her Words

“I have stayed at SECU Family House multiple times since 2011 because I have had a liver transplant and two kidney transplants at UNC.  My family has also stayed at Family House when I have been hospitalized.  All the staff and volunteers are so helpful and caring. I feel like you can connect with other patients and families who are going through something similar, and you can support each other.  SECU Family House is such a comforting, safe, and clean place to stay.  Also, dinners are provided some evenings which is nice to have when you come back in after a long day at the hospital.”

We are glad to share that Heather is doing well, thanks in large part to her kidney donor, Aaron Maynor, her medical team at UNC Hospitals that included Dr. Cerano, Dr. Toledo, and Dr. Gerber, the support of her family and friends, and her strong faith.  We wish her the very best as always!

My sister in law Sharon and I met Heather when we were staying at the SECU home. She is a sweet, beautiful lady inside and out! I agree with her completely about the staffand other clients there. Don't know what we would have done without SECU. Bless you all
